Schoeman - Marble Hall Home
The Brief
Not only do they love their basset hounds, but also their Frisian horses! This family of four needed a new home on a smallholding, with ample space for each family member and stables and training rings for their horses. Specifically asking for a single story home with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 4 garages and 4 stables, this was a challenging project.
The Design
The design focused on bringing the family together in gathering spaces, like the stoep and braai area, swimming pool and enclosed courtyards. With 5 en suite rooms, a study, large kitchen, living and dining area, all open plan, this house was a modern construction, with glass, steel and exposed concrete. The stables were placed for easy access from the home, with a driveway allowing for horsebox transport.
